Epigraphic analysis and hypographic analysis have arisen and grown up in recent years in connection with the investigation of minimization and maximization problems, respectively. Strongly linked to these theories is the so-called epi/hypographic analysis concisely dealt with, but also completed in the present paper. Its applications are in the theory of saddle points.
