Bécache, Éliane; Joly, Patrick; Tsogka, Chrysoula Mixed finite elements and mass lumping for linear elastodynamics. I: Construction. (Éléments finis mixtes et condensation de masse en élastodynamique linéaire. I: Construction.) (French. Abridged English version) Zbl 0895.73064 C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I, Math. 325, No. 5, 545-550 (1997). Summary: We introduce a new family of mixed finite elements for linear elastodynamic problems. We present the construction of the lowest order element in the two-dimensional case together with the dispersion analysis for an isotropic homogeneous medium. This construction can be extended to higher orders as well as to the three-dimensional case.
