Model matching problem for nonlinear recursive systems. (English) Zbl 0911.93013

Nonlinear systems described by a higher order difference equation relating the inputs, the outputs and a finite number of time shifts are considered. The model following problem is investigated. The output of the closed-loop system should depend on the inputs in the same manner as the model outputs. Conditions for the existence of a suitable model and a suitable dynamic compensator are derived. The system-states are restricted to a neighbourhood of an equilibrium-point. Parameters determining the inherent delays between the system input and the system output are introduced. A solution to the problem is obtained by applying the implicit function theorem.
The method is illustrated by two examples.
