This paper deals with convection-diffusion equations with dominant convection. The author derives a posteriori error estimators for finite element discretizations. The main tools in achieving the results are an appropriate trace theorem in deriving upper bounds, judicious modification, and, finally, a sharp estimate for the convection term in establishing lower bounds.
