PLS-regression. Theory and practice. (La régression PLS. Théorie et pratique.) (French) Zbl 0923.62058
Paris: Éditions Technip. x, 254 p. (1998).
The book gives a comprehensive treatment of Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression. The main objectives of the book are to explain the basic principles of this method and its mathematical properties, and to illustrate it by numerous examples available in the literature. The algorithms SIMPLS and NIPALS, the analysis of PLS univariate regression (PLS1) and that of PLS multivariate regression (PLS2) and their applications are explained; further, PLS canonical analysis, treatment of qualitative data, and the PLS approach (path models with latent variables). A comprehensive bibliography on the subject is given at the end. The book is self-contained and will be useful to those who are interested in partial least-squares regression.
