Mathematica is widely regarded as a fully integrated environment for technical computing. This book, written by the creator of Mathematica, is intended to be a complete introduction to Mathematica and covers Mathematica version 4. Mathematica version 4 introduces important extensions to the Mathematica system, especially major efficiency enhancements in handling large volumes of numerical data. It also includes a range of new algorithmic, language and interface features. Except in a few cases version 4 is fully compatible with earlier versions.
This book is organized into three parts. Part 1 is a practical introduction to Mathematica. Part 2 covers the principles of Mathematica. In Part 3, how advanced mathematics can be handled by Mathematica is presented. The book also contains a formula and graphics gallery. The thirteen Appendices of the end can be a good reference guide.
This book is well written and is highly useful to all users of Mathematica.
