Exact values of efficiency for Muskat well arrays. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0926.76117

This paper extends a previous work of the authors [Fluid Dyn. 30, No. 5, 758-766 (1995; Zbl 0861.76085); translation from Izv. Akad. Nauk, Mekh. Zhidk. Gaza 1995, No. 5, 139-148 (1995)] in which formulas for efficiency were derived using a solution of Laplace equation presented as a series of terms related to a double-periodic array of sources and sinks modelling the wells. In the calculation of migration times for the tracers, these series were truncated, and the final formulas were derived for a limited range of \(\underline e\), where \(\underline e\) is the ratio of the distance between well rows to the distance between wells within a row.
In this paper the authors derive exact expressions for the efficiency, valid for any value of \(\underline e\). These expressions are obtained for a linear, checkered, or for seven-well array.
