This paper is based on some lectures given during the Workshop of Measure Theory and Real Analysis, held at Grado in September 1995. The paper contains Lyapunov’s convexity theorem for \(\mathbb{R}^n\)-valued measures, Kelley’s theorem about the existence of strictly positive measures, Maharam’s theorem on measure algebras and the von Neumann-Maharam lifting theorem.
