The aim of this paper is to describe a variant of the multigrid method designed for gas dynamic computations allowing viscous effects in combination with various difference approximations of the Navier-Stokes equations, including the compact difference approximations up to the fifth order of accuracy. A comparison of the results obtained and convergence rates of solutions are presented. The multigrid method for a system of elliptic equations is used to generate the computational grid.
