Park, Dong-Won; Choi, Seung-Bok Moving sliding surfaces for high-order variable structure systems. (English) Zbl 0942.93017 Int. J. Control 72, No. 11, 960-970 (1999). A simplified algorithm for a moving sliding surface (based on the fuzzy theory) is proposed for a high-order variable structure system. This algorithm uses the values of the surface function and the discontinuity gain as fuzzy input, and the variation of the surface function as output variable. The conditions for rotation or shifting the surface are also investigated. As a result, specific conditions for third- and fourth-order systems are obtained. The proposed algorithm is applied to the position control problem of an electrohydraulic servomechanism and some simulation results are presented.
