Allen, E. J. Stochastic differential equations and persistence time for two interacting populations. (English) Zbl 0946.60058 Dyn. Contin. Discrete Impulsive Syst. 5, No. 1-4, 271-281 (1999). A new system of difference equations of two interacting populations is derived. It is associated to the corresponding system of stochastic differential equations, and numerical results indicate good agreement between those two systems and the estimation of the persistence time. Applications of these difference and stochastic differential equations are illustrated for several examples of interacting populations. It is recommended to those interested in modelling the population dynamics by stochastic differential equations.
