Control 72, No. 5, 385-391 (1999). The paper deals with autonomous linear systems having delay in input, only. The authors propose the design of a stabilizing output-feedback linear quadratic controller. Namely, they reduce a purely input-delayed system into a non-delayed system. In addition the authors modify the linear quadratic cost and formulate a simple stabilizing output-feedback linear quadratic controller in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given to illustrate the performance of the proposed controllers.
