Willinger, Walter; Paxson, Vern Where mathematics meets the Internet. (English) Zbl 0973.00523 Notices Am. Math. Soc. 45, No. 8, 961-970 (1998). Surprisingly, the model does not apply to Internet usage, but fractals appear to be a useful substitute.
