Perturbed complex Toda chain and soliton interactions in nonlinear optics. (English) Zbl 0985.37083

The paper deals with some models arising from nonlinear fiber optics which are described by perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger equations. Special emphasis is on the behavior of the so-called \(N\)-solitons trains, that is solutions of the corresponding perturbed Schrödinger equation satisfying specific initial conditions.
