On the semiclassical asymptotics of the current and magnetic moment of a non-interacting electron gas at zero temperature in a strong constant magnetic field. (English) Zbl 0986.82006

Summary: We calculate the asymptotic form of the quantum current and magnetic moment of a non-interacting electron gas at zero temperature. The calculation uses coherent states and a novel commutator identity for the current operator.
