Telemekh. 1995, No. 7, 162-171 (1995). Summary: The problem of the search for the extremum of a function in an excitable medium is considered in the case where the excitation propagates locally. It is shown that the extremal search is opposite to the process of the propagation of the excitation and its efficiency is determined by the proximity of geometric characteristics of the excitable medium and the objective function.
