The study introduces three axioms (postulates) concerning a mapping realized by a fuzzy controller such as (a) coincidence with consequents for inputs equal to rule antecedents (b) lack of containment in all consequents, and (c) belongingness of the conclusion to a convex hull of conclusions of the rules with nonempty intersection of conditions and given input datum. The authors propose a degree of conditional rule firing. Based on that, they show conditions under which the fuzzy controller satisfies the introduced axioms.
