Foncteurs polynomiaux et foncteurs de Mackey non linéaires. (Polynomial functors and nonlinear Mackey functors). (French) Zbl 0995.18004
Let $$P_n({\mathbb{Z}})$$ be the category of polynomial functors with degree $$\leq n$$ for $$n\geq 1$$ from the category of free abelian groups (of finite type) to the category of abelian groups.
Quadratic functors has been applied by H. J. Baues [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 91, No. 1-3, 49-107 (1994; Zbl 0790.55014)] to approach the category $$P_2({\mathbb{Z}})$$. The authors make use of an appropriate notion of Mackey functors to present a neat description of the category $$P_n({\mathbb{Z}})$$.
