This article, as well as the whole issue of the journal, is devoted to the 75th birthday of the outstanding Ukrainian mathematician Volodymyr S. Korolyuk. An overview of the youth, studies, scientific and pedagogic activity of Volodymyr Korolyuk is presented in the form of answers on the questions prepared by two first authors. Korolyuk’s answers are detailed, sincere and sometimes with a good humour. In total, this article (quoting the authors) is an interesting travel “to the gold epoch of probability theory and mathematical statistics not only in the former Soviet Union but also in the whole world”.
