Summary: We present criteria and an associated numerical method for determining the location of a plane crack. We use spherical incident waves and measure the scattered field on some specified set of points. The numerical method for the plane crack identification uses a boundary-finite element method for the computation of direct problem. The behaviour of these numerical methods is analysed in several cases, and simulations are presented.
