Matsushima, Takashi; Chambon, René; Caillerie, Denis Second gradient models as a particular case of microstructured models: A large strain finite elements analysis. (English. Abridged French version) Zbl 1002.74009 C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. II, Fasc. b, Méc. 328, No. 2, 179-186 (2000). Summary: Second gradient models are usually nonlocal. Recently local second gradient models have been developed. They can be seen as a particular case of microstructured media which obey a kinematic constraint. It is then easy to build up a large strain finite element method useful for one-dimensional as well as for two- and three-dimensional problems. A one-dimensional example is finally given.
