This book gives a very thorough explanation of how to construct an $$hp$$-finite-element computer program. If the original problem has constraints on the curl or divergence of the solution, the book also explains how to choose finite elements consistent with these constraints. The chapter on the linear algebra needed for finite-element programs is brief but up to date. The book closes with a detailed discussion of automatic mesh refinement. The compact disk supplied with the book contains tables of integration points and weights for several quadrature methods.
