Stability criteria for certain second order delay differential equations. (English) Zbl 1036.34085

The asymptotic stability of the zero solution to second-order linear delay differential equations of the form \[ y''(t)=p_1y'(t)+p_2y(t-\tau)+q_1y(t)+q_2y(t-\tau), \] where \(p_1\), \(p_2\), \(q_1\), \(q_2\) are certain constants and \(\tau>0\), is studied. In the proofs, the Pontryagin theory for quasi-polynomials is used.
