This fifth volume of the third series of the mathematical, scientifical and technical correspondance of G. W. Leibniz covers the period 1691–1693 (203 letters and two from 1674–1676). Those letters are written to or from personalities like Jean Bernoulli, Fato de Duillier, Halley, Huygens, Papin, l’Hospital, Tschirnhaus, Newton, to quote only the most famous names. They are very carefully edited by H. J. Hess and J. G. O’Hara, and followed by an index of names and an index of topics. It is a most valuable addition to the edition of the work of Leibniz, and it contains first hand information on the beginnings of the calculus.
For previous volumes see Zbl 1038.01515 and Zbl 0836.01005.
