A posteriori error estimates for optimal control problems governed by parabolic equations. (English) Zbl 1049.65057
An abstract optimal control problem with quadratic cost functional and a linear parabolic problem as state equation is considered. A posteriori error estimates for both the state and the control finite element approximations are obtained. The authors consider that such estimates are an important step towards developing reliable adaptive finite element approximation schemes for the control problem.
