Weighted value sharing and a question of I. Lahiri. (English) Zbl 1067.30055
In 2001 the reviewer introduced the idea of weighted sharing of values [“Weighted value sharing and uniqueness of meromorphic functions”, Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 46, 241–253 (2001; Zbl 1025.30027)] and proved a uniqueness theorem for meromorphic functions sharing one value with weight two. In the same paper the reviewer raised the problem of investigating the situation when two meromorphic functions share a single value with weight one. The authors of the present paper prove two results on the uniqueness of meromorphic functions sharing a value with weight one and exhibit some applications of the main results. The reviewer feels that the results presented in the paper will be useful in future research in the uniqueness theory.
