Einav, I.; Puzrin, A. M. Continuous hyperplastic critical state (CHCS) model: Derivation. (English) Zbl 1069.74007 Int. J. Solids Struct. 41, No. 1, 199-226 (2004). The goal is to formulate a new thermodynamically admissible constitutive model which will hopefully be consistent with other existing non-thermomechanical constitutive models from the literature. To this end the authors develop some new concepts and constitutive modeling guidelines. In general, the authors demonstrate how the specification of two potential functions allow the derivation of constitutive models that satisfy the laws of thermodynamics and, at the same time, account for many important aspects of soil behaviour.
