Smol’yakov, È. R. Construction of a theory of cooperative games without using a characteristic function. (Russian, English) Zbl 1072.91009 Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 44, No. 1, 93-103 (2004); translation in Comput. Math. Math. Phys. 44, No. 1, 83-92 (2004). Cooperative game theory is developed that does not rely on the concept of characteristic function. Rather, it is based on natural concepts of equilibrium. The definition of equilibrium does not use any artificial rules of conduct. In this theory, a solution always exists, and it is often unique.
