From the text: This note gives a history of what is called ”graphical calculation” by the author, includeing i.e. harmonic analysers, integraphs, planimeters, the slide rule and nomographs.
The text investigates nomographs (still used extensively by engineers) and gives a number of interesting graphs showing the way in which the various devices developed over the period 1790–1980 and also an extensive bibliography covering that same period.
