Computation of steady supersonic three-dimensional flows with bow shocks by the method of characteristics. (English. Russian original) Zbl 1080.76542

The authors develop a new algorithm for numerical integration of three-dimensional equations of gas dynamics with bow-shock capturing. The algorithmm can be applied to multidimensional hyperbolic nonlinear systems of partial diffrential equations. Stability of the algorithm is analyzed for gas-dynamics equations written in the linear approximation. The results of this study are confirmed by computing flows past certain bodies.
