Li, Jun; Yau, Shingtung The existence of supersymmetric string theory with torsion. (English) Zbl 1102.53052 J. Differ. Geom. 70, No. 1, 143-181 (2005). The authors study the system of equations proposed by A. Strominger [Nucl. Phys. B 274, 253–284 (1986)] for superstrings with torsion. They construct a regular and irreducible solution of this system for \(U(4)\) and \(U(5)\) principal bundles. They achieve this goal by perturbing around the Calabi-Yau vacua paired with the gauge field on the tangent bundle of the Calabi-Yau threefold.
