Summary: In quantum information theory, there are several open problems which center around whether certain quantities are additive or not. The additivity of Holevo capacity is the oldest of these. If this conjecture is true, it follows that entangled signal states do not improve the capacity of quantum channels. Another additivity conjecture is about the minimum entropy of the output of the quantum channel.
