Bulatov, V. V.; Vladimirov, Y. V. On the computation of the eigenfunctions and dispersion curves of the fundamental vertical spectral problem for the equation of internal gravity waves. (Russian. English summary) Zbl 1119.76310 Mat. Model. 19, No. 2, 59-67 (2007). Authors’ summary: The authors consider numerical algorithms for determining the dispersion curves and eigenfunctions of the fundamental vertical spectral problem for the equation of internal gravity waves in a ayer of an arbitrarily stratified medium. These algorithms use the analytical properties of spectral problems, which enables one to compute the dispersion curves ‘in the large’ and to study numerically the wave fields from nonlocal sources of perturbations. We give the results of numerical computations for various forms of actual ocean stratification.
