Giacomin, Giambattista Random polymer models. (English) Zbl 1125.82001 Hackensack, NJ: World Scientific (ISBN 978-1-86094-786-5/hbk). xvi, 242 p. (2007). A random approach to disordered polymers. This book provides a probabilistic approach to a general class of polymer models described by Boltzmann factors, energy function and partition function. The main considered topics are homogeneous and inhomogeneous models, free energy and phase diagram of disordered pinning models, localized phase and delocalized phase of disordered polymers, whilst the mathematical apparatus, which is mainly related to random walk, is postponed at the end of the book. The book is self-contained and the chapters are almost independent. Some open problems are mentioned. My regret is that the notations are not sufficiently explained in the introduction Reviewer: Guy Jumarie (Montréal) Cited in 4 ReviewsCited in 123 Documents MSC: 82-02 Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to statistical mechanics 82D60 Statistical mechanics of polymers 60K35 Interacting random processes; statistical mechanics type models; percolation theory 60-02 Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to probability theory Keywords:polymer; disordered polymer; random polymer; free energy; delocalized phase; Brownian PDF BibTeX XML Cite \textit{G.
