Hartnoll, Sean A.; Policastro, Giuseppe Spacetime foam in twistor string theory. (English) Zbl 1134.81045 Adv. Theor. Math. Phys. 10, No. 2, 181-216 (2006). It is shown that the Penrose transform provides a natural map between the Kähler moduli of Kähler anti-self-dual gravitational instantons in conformal supergravity and the D1 brane charge on the corresponding twistor spaces. This provides quantitative support for the idea that placing D1 branes in \(\mathbb CP^3\) corresponds to blowing-up points in four dimensions. This relationship may shed light upon spacetime foam in four dimensions or upon the role of D1 brane instantons in topological string theory.
