On disconjugacy and conjugacy of second order linear difference equations. (English) Zbl 1141.39300
Summary: Disconjugacy/conjugacy of a class of second-order homogeneous linear difference equations, which can be put into self-adjoint form, are studied. Very simple sufficient conditions for disconjugacy are given. Further, oscillation/nonoscillation of a class of second-order linear homogeneous difference equations, which cannot be put into self-adjoint form, is discussed under very simple conditions on the coefficient functions.
