After recalling the basics of Berezin-Toeplitz quantization, the author discusses the moduli space of flat SU\((n)\) connections on fixed Riemann surface in its different guises Further some recent results obtained by J. Anderson showing the asymptotic faithfulness of the representations of the mapping class group on the covariantly constant sections of the projectivized Verlinde bundle is presented.
