Atanasov, Victor; Dandoloff, Rossen From deformed surfaces with prescribed quantum properties to new two-dimensional quantum devices. (English) Zbl 1197.53121 Mladenov, Ivaïlo M. (ed.), Proceedings of the 9th international conference on geometry, integrability and quantization, Sts. Constantine and Elena, Bulgaria, June 8–13, 2007. Sofia: Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (ISBN 978-954-8495-42-4/pbk). 135-145 (2008). The authors derive surfaces with rotational symmetry with prescribed curvature induced by quantum potentials. Strips of such surfaces which allow particles with generic angular momentum to bind are glued together and the resulting surfaces are discussed. Applications to engineer devices are outlined. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1154.17001].
