Penalties, Lagrange multipliers and Nitsche mortaring. (English) Zbl 1217.65122
Penalty methods, augmented Lagrangian methods and Nitsche mortaring are known numerical methods for optimization and finite elements, respectively. The aim of the paper is to describe this methods from the optimization point of view.
Some numerical results for a simple test problem are given.
