Properties of the Green functions for a general ‘clamped beam’, a Timoshenko clamped beam and an Euler-Bernoulli clamped beam are presented. The condensed form is new even for the Euler-Bernoulli clamped beam and allows to justify the pointwise comparison principle for the Timoshenko beam.
