Porubský, Štefan Matyáš Lerch (1860–1922). (English) Zbl 1302.01021 Šiauliai Math. Semin. 8(16), 197-222 (2013). The paper presents the life and scientific career of Matyáš Lerch. He was one of the most prominent Czech mathematicians on the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. A short familiy background is given. Further, his studies at the Prague Polytechnic, his assistentship there, the forced departure to Fribourg (Switzerland) and his return back to Bohemia are described.
