Basic introduction to exponential and logarithmic functions. (English) Zbl 1384.26015

The author presents an introduction to exponential and logarithmic functions, simlar to H. Samelson’s [Am. Math. Mon. 81, 1012–1013 (1974; Zbl 0289.26002)] approach. The use of convexity in the latter study has now been circumvented.
