Summary: We are concerned with the third-order linear differential equation \((q(qy')')'+ py' + ry = 0\) defined on an interval \([t_0, \infty)\). We derive asymptotic solutions for cases characterized by \(p\) being “small” and “large”, respectively. Our main tool is a result by Eastham on the asymptotic solution of linear differential systems.
