The Cracovian calculus and other mathematical ideas of Tadeusz Banachiewicz. (Polish. English, German summaries) Zbl 1027.01502

Summary: The paper is an extended version of the lecture delivered at the Conference on History of Mathematics held in May 1994 in Rudy Raciborskie. It is a presentation of some information about the Cracovian calculus and on other mathematical ideas of Tadeusz Banachiewicz (1882–1954). The first part of this paper contains a detailed biography and other information about Tadeusz Banachiewicz. In the second part the Cracovian calculus and his other mathematical ideas are presented [see T. Banachiewicz, Rachunek krakowianowy z zastosowaniami, PAN, Komitet Astronomiczny, PWN, Warszawa (1959)]. Archival material of the Astronomical Institute of Jagiellonian University is used.
