This paper lists, without details, various results on existence, uniqueness and error estimates for the application of mixed finite element methods to fourth-order elliptic problems with variable coefficients which have been obtained by the author and some co-workers [e.g.: S. Balasundaram and the author, Z. Angew. Math. Mech. 66, 489–499 (1986; Zbl 0616.73064); Comput. Math. Appl. 10, 245–256 (1984; Zbl 0553.65080); the author, Num. probl., France-Italy-URSS 6th Joint Symp., INRIA, Rocquencourt/France 1983, 127–144 (1984; Zbl 0555.65072)].
