Approximation of failure probability for large systems with non-Markovian repair-times. (Évaluation a priori de la probabilité de défaillance d’un système réparable.) (French. Abridged English version) Zbl 0922.60079

A system with \(N\) repairable independent components is considered. The evolution is described by a binary vector, where each component is equal to \(0\) or \(1\) according to the component is working or is failed. Each component has an exponential lifetime and a general distributed repair-time. The authors propose a bounding for the probability of failure before restoration. For a related paper see A. D.
