Some curiosities of rings of analytic functions. (English) Zbl 0584.30046

Für einen Teilkörper K vom Körper \({\mathbb{C}}\) der komplexen Zahlen sei E(K) der Teilring von \(K[[ X]]\), der aus allen überall (in \({\mathbb{C}})\) konvergenten Potentzreihen besteht. Ferner sei, für eine positive Zahl \(\rho E(\rho,K)\) (bzw. \(\bar E(\rho,K))\) der aus den Potenzreihen mit Konvergenzradius \(>\rho\) (bzw. \(\geq \rho)\) bestehenden Teilring von \(K[[ X]].\)
Die globale Dimension von R, gl.dim.R, wobei R entweder \(E(K)\) oder \(\bar E(\rho,K)\) bezeichnet, ist \(\geq 3\). Für jedes t, \(3\leq t\leq \infty\), ist die Aussage ”gl.\(\dim R=t\)” konsistent mit den Axiomen ZFC. Ferner enthält R eine Primidealkette der Länge \(\geq 2^{\aleph_ 1}\). Unter Annahme des Martinschen Axiomes existiert eine Primidealkette der Länge \(2^{2^{\aleph_ 0}}\). Entsprechendes gilt für jeden \(E({\mathbb{Q}})\) enthaltenden Teilring von dem Ring \(C^{\infty}({\mathbb{R}})\) aller unendlich oft differenzierbaren reellen Funktion, sowie für den Ring \(E_ r\) aller ganzen Funktionen der Ordnung \(<r\), wobei r eine positive reelle Zahl ist. Andererseits ist \(E(\rho,K)\) für jedes positive \(\rho\) und jeden Körper \(K\subseteq {\mathbb{C}}\) ein euklidischer Ring.
Schließlich wird der stabile Rang der Ringe \(E(\rho,K)\), \(\bar E(\rho,K)\) und \(E(K)\) angegeben.
