Vansteenkiste, G. C. Adaptive control through simulation. An example. (English) Zbl 0566.93033 Ric. Autom. 13, 307-323 (1982). This study attempts to apply recently developed control techniques to complex biological processes. Modeling of biological processes also provides increased insight into the functions and basic mechanisms of living systems. The iterative process of model construction and analysis is a powerful tool to improve knowledge of cell growth and metabolism.
