Summary: A modelling of the mechanical behavior of the left ventricle is described using a system of coupled partial differential equations, which are defined on domains depending on the solution. This problem presents two main difficulties: simultaneous coupling of equations and evolution of the domains. A discrete modelling is investigated, and a comparison is made between a simulation with fixed domains during the cardiac cycle and a simulation that takes into account the evolution of the geometries.
