Ji, Xiaodong; Zheng, Qin; He, Chun Two kinds of blowup mechanism of quasilinear hyperbolic system. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1061.35113 J. PLA Univ. Sci. Technol., Nat. Sci. 3, No. 5, 99-102 (2002). Summary: For general initial values, a quasilinear hyperbolic system does not always have a global classsical solution. If there is no global classical solution, the solution blows up in finite time. This paper mostly considers some kind of a special Burgers’ equation and discusses the lifespan of its classical solution and the order between geometric blowup and ordinary differential blowup when the solution blows up.
